TOKYO, June 18 (Xinhua) -- A traffic accident involving three vehicles occurred early Wednesday in Tokyo's Nerima Ward, leaving two dead and another two injured.

The crash took place at around 4:30 a.m. local time, involving two trucks and a small passenger car.

Four people were injured and taken to the hospital. A man in his 40s and a woman in her 50s, both in the passenger car, were later pronounced dead, national broadcaster NHK reported.

The two truck drivers sustained injuries but are not in a life-threatening condition.

The crash site is located approximately 600 meters south of Sakuradai Station on the Seibu Ikebukuro Line. Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident. ■
