MADRID, Sept. 2 (Xinhua) -- FC Barcelona announced on Tuesday that the Chinese home appliance company, Midea, will sponsor the club as a Main Partner and Official Home Appliances Partner for a five-year period from the start of the 2026-27 La Liga season until the 2030-31 campaign.

The deal will see Midea's logo on the left sleeve of Barca's first team and training jersey, with the contract signed in a ceremony by Barcelona's first vice-president Rafael Yuste and president of Midea International Business Lewis Fu at the Club offices.

Yuste said it would "be an honor for FC Barcelona to welcome Midea, starting from the 2026-27 season, into the great Barca family."

He highlighted the company's "leadership in the field of smart home solutions and its commitment to research and innovation are perfectly aligned with the spirit of an FC Barcelona that looks to the future."

"This alliance once again demonstrates the power of the Barca brand as a magnet for companies from around the world that see FC Barcelona as the best platform for their projects," continued Yuste.

Meanwhile Lewis Fu said that Barca was "one of the most successful clubs of all time and one of the most popular sports teams in the world."

"We look forward to a long partnership where Midea and FC Barcelona are the world's No. 1 on and off the field," Fu said.

Midea forms part of the Midea Group, which was founded in China in 1968 and has grown to have over 190,000 global employees and in 2024, the company created revenue of 57.5 billion U.S. dollars. ■
