DHAKA, Oct. 31 (Xinhua) -- China is turning into a key future export destination as it is opening wider to the rest of the world, Bangladesh's apex trade body chief has said.

Md Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin, president of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), made the remarks in an exclusive interview with Xinhua ahead of the upcoming China International Import Expo (CIIE).

The expo is one of the mega initiatives which China has so far made to benefit the rest of the world at large, said the business leader.

With regard to the CIIE which runs from Nov. 5 to Nov. 10, he said the expo is very important as it paves the way to get introduced with new products.

In the expo, he said Bangladesh's key focus will be showcasing its globally demandable competitive and diversified products to have more new markets in China and elsewhere in the world.

"China is a very big country with its 1.3 billion population. Even if a single product of ours hits that (Chinese) market that will surely pave the way for a huge market access there," Mohiuddin said.

He said China has already given duty free access to most of the Bangladesh products. "So, our exporters have their special privileges there. This expo also creates opportunities to become acquainted with (business of) other countries who export (to China)."

The FBCCI chief said Bangladeshi businessmen are nowadays going more to China.

"Many businesses are really quite busy with the Chinese market which is turning into a key future export destination for the countries across the world."

Meanwhile, the business leader said that India and China being two giant neighbors, Bangladesh has specially enormous business opportunities due to its suitable geographical location.

"I wish every success to the participants in the expo and hope they would have well rewards from the expo."
